The Singapore Space Challenge 2010 site visits resumes with the second tour to the Singapore Aviation Academy, the training arm of the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore.

 

All SSC 2010 participants and teachers-in-charge are to inform on their availability for the tour to SSTA, with details as follows:

The Singapore Space Challenge 2010 site visits begin with a tour to the SembCorp Marine Shipyard.

 

All SSC 2010 participants and teachers-in-charge are to inform on their availability for the tour to SSTA, with details as follows:

Time: 8.30am – 12 noon (Light refreshments provided)
Venue: Old Boon Lay Bus Interchange

 

Team Leaders to revert on total team headcount for the site visit by latest 27th Feb.


The Singapore Space Challenge 2010 Training has come to completion, over the past 2 weeks student participants have been exposed to training of SolidWorks and CATIA software.

 

Students can now attain the CATIA license by signing and returning the License Agreement Form to SSTA.

 

All team leaders have received the relevant attachments and instructions and forms are to be submitted no later than 12th Feb, 2010. Please direct any queries pertaining to the above to cammy.goh@space.org.sg.


The second and final Training Session for the SSC 2010 on CATIA Foundations and Applications would be held on 23rd January 2010, at NTU School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering CAE Lab 1, N3-b3b-05.

Singapore Space Challenge 2010

January 06th, 2010

1. Competition kick-off and training Sessions for SolidWorks and CATIA on 16th and 23rd January respectively, conducted by Trainers from Dassault Systemes. Both trainings would be full day sessions and training location will be at NTU CAE Lab 1, N3-b3b-05. We highly encourage at least 1 laptop to be brought per team.

 

2. Scheduled site visits to Sponsoring Organisations
Site visits to the companies below would be arranged exclusively for all SSC 2010 participants:
• SembCorp Marine Ltd
• Embraer Singapore
• Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore
• Defence Science & Technology Agency
These site visits would be organized for all students through the months of Feb-April. The tentative timeline for the above would be on 3rd Week February, 2nd Week March, and 1st Week April. All site visits would be confirmed at least 2 weeks before the visit and participants would be informed via email. Details would also be posted on our website.

 

3. Participation at the Knowledge and Interest-based session on Day 3 of the GSTC-SATTECH 2010 Conference, on 30th January 2010. Held in conjunction with the Singapore Airshow 2010, GSTC-SATTECH 2010 will showcase and discuss the latest concepts, possibilities in today’s dynamic Space domains. The event will feature renowned international and regional industry leaders and representatives and bring into Singapore updates on the developments in the international space industry well as debates and discussions on new and emerging Space-related ventures.. 4. In the interim, we strongly encourage all student teams to begin initial conceptualization of your Space Plane, both interior and exterior designs as well as to research for commercially available designs of the Space Plane engine, as it would not be provided. In addition, to facilitate your understanding of the targets of the competition, please do refer to the Competition guidelines.
