We launched the Digital Earth Partnership Technology Challenge with the World Bank to enhance temperature measurement technologies that address the Urban Heat Island (UHI) effect in East Asian cities resulting from urbanisation. The challenge concluded with the winning team, 4El, delivering an analysis of satellite thermal data on the UHI effect’s historical patterns and impacts.
