Dr Roy Ang

Dr Roy Ang is a scientist working in the Laboratory of Biodiversity Genomics at A*STAR’s Genome Institute of Singapore (GIS), after completing his PhD in Genetics at Stanford University in 2022. His research focuses on plant genomics and sustainable urban agriculture. At GIS, Roy is responsible for developing new agritech R&D opportunities, and manages a S$2 million multi-institution research project to develop improved crops for indoor farming by mutagenizing seeds in space using cosmic radiation. The space seed project aims to position Singapore as a global leader in seed innovation and controlled-environment agriculture.
